Congratulations to Ella Markan
Ella Markan is the 6th recipient of our annual Boyd Johnson Memorial Scholarship of $1000.00. Ella is a graduate of Bedford Road Collegiate and maintained her place on the honour roll throughout high school. She has received several awards and scholarships including the Greystone Scholar award, the Centennial Merit Scholarship, The General Proficiency Award and the Kiwanis Foundation bursary. Even with her busy academic schedule Ella played junior and senior basketball, held part time jobs and volunteered for and joined many school clubs including the Bedford Pride club, the Nor’Westers Canoe Club and was involved at many levels with B.R.I.T. One of Ella’s outstanding attributes has been her volunteerism. She has found great fulfillment in volunteering for such organizations as The Friendship Inn, Ronald McDonald House, Parkridge Center and Cosmopolitan Industries – just to name a few. Ella is currently enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan, in the College of Arts and Schience.
