Membership Information and Survey

For the past three years the Saskatoon City Employees' Credit Union Board of Directors have been researching and developing a new Board Governance Policy using the Carver Model of Governance.

The Board Governance Policy provides four types of Policy direction.

1) Executive Limitations Policy

Provides direction in to the General manager in areas such as: Interaction with Credit Union members, financial planning, budgeting, asset protection, compensation and benefits, and communication to the staff and the Board of Directors.

2) Board/Staff Linkage Policy

Provides direction to the responsibilities of the manager, delegation to the manager and accountability, unity of control, and the boards ability to monitor the general managers' performance.

3) Governance Process

Provides direction as to the board of directors governing style, board job description, agenda planning, role of the chairperson, board code of conduct, and confidentiality.

4) Ends Policy

A statement or vision of the board for all members of the Saskatoon City Employees' Credit Union.

The Fourth Policy -Ends Policy - is the vision of the board of directors for each member. This policy is described in detail below:

Ends Policy (vision)

Our members enjoy:

1. Access to a full range of financial services.

(exceptions: Internet banking/interactive Voice Response)

Members should have access to a wide variety of financial services such as: RRSP's, RESP's, loans, world wide automated teller access, money orders, travellers cheques and overdraft protection.

2. Competitive Rates.

*Overall Service charges shall be in the lowest 25% of the Saskatoon marketplace.*

Saskatoon City Employees' Credit Union wishes to be competitive with other banking institutions in Saskatoon and prides itself in maintaining low overall service charges.

3. Personal Service.

Banking service can be achieved through an automated teller or with a personal teller. Hours of operation and great location allow for personal banking service.

4. Confidence in Financial Transactions.

AIl financial transactions are treated in a professional and confidential manner.

As a member of the Saskatoon City Employees' Credit Union do you agree or disagree with the ENDS POLICY & VISION your board of directors has set out for you.

All replies to this form are kept strictly confidential.  If you wish, you may contact any of the directors to voice your comments or concerns.

I with the Ends Policy/Vision that my Board of Directors have set out for me.
